CLOONAN GSA
The Cloonan GSA (Genders & Sexuality Alliance) is a student-run organization whose mission is to unite LGBTQ+ and allied students to build community and organize around issues impacting them within Cloonan and the community. The GSA has branches at all three high schools in Stamford, which hosts educational events throughout the middle and high schools. We believe every student deserves to feel welcomed, safe and free to be their authentic selves at school. It is important to note that students do not need to be part of the LGBTQ+ community to join this club. Students who identify as an ally or want more information are encouraged to join. For more information on joining the GSA, see Mrs. Ballantoni or Ms. Evans.
**In 2016, the GSA formally changed their name to Genders & Sexualities Alliance Network (formerly Gay-Straight Alliance Network).

DONATE TO OUR PRIDE MONTH
Our GSA members have started planning for Pride Month. We plan to donate LGBTQ+ books to the school library to add more inclusive reading opportunities for students. They are going to hand out ally stickers to staff and students who want to show their support of the queer community. They are also going to set up a booth to distribute pride flags and preferred pronoun stickers. Our hope is to also create a "Born This Way" selfie station so students and staff can both show support and represent their authentic selves. The wall flag in our donors cart will be hung in our main lobby for all to see!
